Bathroom remodeling in Northwest Arkansas
From a dated hall bath to a full primary suite, we handle the demo, plumbing, tile and finish work, with one contractor and one itemized price.
What a bathroom remodel with us includes
Most bathroom projects we see fall into one of three types. Knowing which one you have helps set the budget early.
- Refresh: new vanity, top, fixtures, lighting, paint and flooring, keeping the layout as is.
- Tub-to-shower conversion: pull the old tub and build a walk-in tile shower with a proper waterproofed pan, glass and grab-bar blocking.
- Full remodel: down to the studs, new layout if needed, new plumbing and electrical, tile shower and/or freestanding tub, double vanity.
On every bathroom we take care of the parts you don’t see: the shower waterproofing, the venting, and the subfloor. Those are what decide whether a bathroom still looks good in ten years.
Things to decide early
- Layout: keeping the toilet, shower and sink where they are is the biggest money-saver. Moving drains adds plumbing work and often floor work.
- Shower or tub: many homeowners swap a rarely-used tub for a larger walk-in shower. If it’s the only tub in the house, think about resale before you remove it.
- Tile: large-format tile means fewer grout lines but needs a flatter wall and floor. We’ll tell you what your walls can take.
- Accessibility: a curbless entry, wider door and blocking for grab bars cost little during a remodel and a lot to add later.
Choosing a bathroom remodel contractor
A bathroom packs plumbing, electrical, ventilation, waterproofing and tile into a small room, so the contractor matters more than the fixtures. Ask any bathroom remodel contractor for their Arkansas contractor license (the state requires one for remodeling work over $2,000), who pulls the permit, how the shower is waterproofed, and whether the estimate lists every line item. We answer all four in writing with your estimate.
We remodel bathrooms across the region. If you’re in Bentonville, see how we work as a general contractor in Bentonville, including the city’s remodel permit; in Rogers, see bathroom remodeling in Rogers, including what the city needs for a remodel permit; and in Fayetteville, where homes are older and every trade needs its own permit, see bathroom remodeling in Fayetteville. In Springdale, where close to half the homes were built between 1990 and 2009, see bathroom remodeling in Springdale, including which permits a homeowner can pull.
What a bathroom remodel costs in Northwest Arkansas
The range in the box below is wide on purpose: a hall-bath refresh and a full primary-bath remodel are different jobs. Where your bathroom or shower remodel lands in that range comes down to a handful of decisions, and your itemized estimate shows each one as its own line.
- Keeping or changing the layout. Leaving the toilet, shower and vanity where they are keeps the plumbing simple. Moving a drain means opening the floor, and sometimes the ceiling below.
- A tile shower or a surround. A one-piece or panel surround goes in quickly. A custom tile walk-in shower needs a waterproofed pan, a tested liner and more labor, and the tile you pick moves the number too.
- Plumbing and electrical moves. A new shower valve location, a second sink, a heated floor or extra lighting each adds trade work, and most of it needs a permit and an inspection.
- What’s behind the walls. Water damage under an old tub or a rotted subfloor is common in older homes. We look for it on the walkthrough and price the likely repair rather than leave it as a surprise.
- Permits. Cosmetic work usually doesn’t need one. Moving plumbing, wiring or walls usually does, and each city has its own paperwork. Fayetteville, for example, needs a separate plumbing permit.
If the job is only the shower, see tub-to-shower conversions for what changes when the tub comes out and the drain moves.
A hall-bath refresh sits at the low end; a full primary bath with a tile shower and new layout at the high end.
Range based on HomeAdvisor 2025 national cost data. Your written estimate depends on size, materials and what’s behind the walls.More about bathroom remodeling
- Tub-to-Shower Conversion: Pull out a tub you never use and build a walk-in tile shower in the same space.
- Walk-In Showers: Custom tile walk-in showers: curbless or low-curb, niches, benches, glass and handheld showerheads.

Questions about bathroom remodeling
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A refresh is often about a week of work. A full remodel with a new tile shower usually runs a few weeks once materials are on site, because tile, waterproofing and inspections each need their own time. You get a schedule with your estimate.
Do I need a permit to remodel a bathroom?
Cosmetic work like a new vanity, paint or flooring usually doesn’t. Changing plumbing, electrical or walls usually does. We check with your city and pull any permits the job needs.
Can you convert my tub to a walk-in shower?
Yes. It’s one of our most common bathroom projects. We remove the tub, rework the drain, build a waterproofed shower pan and tile it floor to ceiling.
Can I use the bathroom during the remodel?
Not usually, if it’s a full remodel. If it’s your only bathroom, tell us up front and we’ll plan the work to keep the downtime as short as possible.
