Kitchen remodeling in Northwest Arkansas

New cabinets and counters, a bigger island, or walls opened up. We plan the kitchen with you, price every line, and build it.

Kitchen projects we do

  • Cabinet and countertop replacement: new boxes or refaced doors, quartz or granite tops, new sink and faucet, backsplash.
  • Islands and layout changes: adding or enlarging an island, moving appliances, or reworking the work triangle.
  • Opening walls: removing or opening a wall between the kitchen and living area, including any beam and permit it needs.
  • Lighting and electrical: recessed and under-cabinet lighting, pendant lights, and the circuits newer appliances need.
  • Flooring and finishes: flooring that runs through the kitchen and living area, paint and trim.

What a kitchen remodel costs in Northwest Arkansas

The range in the box below runs from new cabinets and counters in the same layout to a gutted kitchen with walls moved. Cabinets are usually the biggest single cost, then countertops, then labor. Where your kitchen lands comes down to a few decisions, and your itemized estimate shows each one as its own line, so you can see what a design choice costs before you commit to it.

  • Cabinets: replace, reface or paint. New cabinet boxes cost the most and set the schedule, because lead times run longer than the construction. Refacing or painting sound boxes keeps the layout and the cost down.
  • Countertops. Quartz and granite are priced by the slab and the fabrication: more seams, cutouts, an undermount sink or a waterfall edge all add to the number.
  • Moving the sink, range or gas line. Keeping appliances where they are is the cheapest kitchen. Moving the sink means new drain and vent lines; moving a gas range means a new gas line run and tested under the Arkansas Fuel Gas Code.
  • Removing a wall. A non-load-bearing wall is mostly demolition and patching. A load-bearing wall needs a sized beam, posts carried down to the foundation, and a permit, and any plumbing, wiring or ductwork inside it has to be rerouted.
  • Electrical. The electrical code (2020 NEC, enforced in NWA) calls for at least two 20-amp small-appliance circuits for countertop outlets, GFCI protection on every countertop receptacle, and outlets spaced along the counters and island. An older kitchen often needs new circuits to meet that, plus any for added lighting or appliances.
  • Permits by city. Cabinets and counters alone usually don’t need a permit. Moving plumbing, wiring or walls does, and the paperwork differs: Bentonville wants scaled drawings through eTrakit, Rogers wants before-and-after floor plans of the whole house plus an electrical plan, and Fayetteville needs separate plumbing, electrical and mechanical permits, at triple the fee if work starts without them.

Living through a kitchen remodel

Expect to be without a working kitchen for part of the project. We’ll tell you which weeks, so you can set up a temporary space with the fridge and a microwave. We keep the work area closed off and clean up every day.

Planning a kitchen in Bentonville, where the average home sold for about $554,000 in late 2025? Remodeling the kitchen you have often beats moving. Our page on hiring a general contractor in Bentonville covers how kitchen and bath permits work there. Typical cost in NWA$15,000 – $65,000

New cabinets and counters at the low end; layout changes, walls removed and high-end finishes at the top. Large high-end kitchens can run more.

Questions about kitchen remodeling

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

A cabinet-and-counter replacement is often a few weeks of on-site work. Full remodels with layout changes take longer. Cabinet lead times often set the schedule more than the construction does, so we order early.

Can you remove the wall between my kitchen and living room?

Often, yes. If the wall is load-bearing it needs a properly sized beam and usually a permit. We check what’s in the wall (plumbing, wiring, ductwork) before pricing it.

Do you help with design and selections?

Yes. We help you plan the layout and choose cabinets, counters, tile and fixtures that fit the budget, and we price each option so there are no surprises.

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. We come out, look at the space, and give you a written, itemized estimate at no cost and with no obligation.

“We have an air bnb in downtown Bentonville and these guys helped us fix it up. They also really helped us get it back up and running after the tornado in June 2024. They even connected us with some of the services needed that they don’t cover such as water removal. Thanks guys!”
